Determining dust control methods and a cost-effective solution for mitigating dust emissions from the Salton Sea
The Salton Sea, the largest lake in California, covers about 376 square miles of Imperial and Riverside counties. Unfortunately, it is slowly shrinking, exposing a dry seabed that can potentially result in large dust storms that could affect Imperial and Riverside counties. Our project has determined the best dust control methods to use at the Sea as well as provides policy recommendations to help decision-makers cost-effectively reduce the most airborne dust around the Salton Sea under a constrained budget.
